MSME (now called Udyam) registration is the procedure to register your firm under the MSME Development Act to avail government benefits, subsidies, and priority lending facilities.
There is no difference — MSME, SSI, Udyog Aadhaar, and Udyam Registration all refer to the same registration. The government rebranded from Udyog Aadhaar to Udyam Registration in July 2020.
